  1. This is a welcome paper, considering how often this subject comes up with forest owners unfamiliar with close-to-nature forestry. It’s great to see the subject being raised by Irish Forestry and Timber. Well done Paddy for putting it up. I’m looking forward to the Irish version from LISS Project.

  2. This is a very interesting paper and well worth reading. Frankly, I’m not surprised by the results. A similar paper based on research into transformation options will be prepared in Ireland as part of the Low Impact Silvicultural Systems Project funded by the Department of Agriculture.
