The new Afforestation Scheme 2023-2027 from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine sets out a number of types of forests that are eligible for grant aid. For the first time, there is provision and support in the programme for the establishment of mixed multifunctional forests with CCF management in mind. Specification FT10 – CCF – Continuous Cover Forestry details what is involved with creating a mixed-species production forest that will be managed by CCF from the outset.

During the webinar and panel discussion, our expert speakers, lead by Pro Silva Ireland chair, Manus Crowley, will guide you through the design principles of establishing a CCF forest, focusing on robust species mixtures and species compatibility for forest resilience. They will go into depth on what’s involved in choosing this path, and the implications for new forest owners. The right tree in the right place is a phrase that is commonly heard among foresters, and our panel will delve into what this might mean for a particular site.

Whether you’re a seasoned forester or just curious about sustainable forestry, this webinar is perfect for you. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to expand your knowledge and connect with like-minded individuals.

Attendance at the webinar is worth 15 CPD points for those registered with the Society of Irish Foresters CPD programme.

Supported by funding from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine
