These supports can help forest owners create new CCF forests, transform existing plantations, or reforest following clear-fell while moving towards a permanent forest cover system.

FT10-CCF: Establishing a new CCF forest

FT10-CCF supports the creation of diverse, mixed-species productive forests designed from the outset for CCF. These forests are managed without clear-felling and are intended to provide long-term timber production, biodiversity benefits and greater resilience to climate change.

Climate Resilient Reforestation Scheme

This scheme supports forest owners who wish to move from a traditional clear-fell and replant system to a more diverse forest managed under CCF principles following clear-fell. It encourages species diversity and long-term forest resilience. Written approval for the scheme must be received from the Department prior to commencing clear-fell. 

Suitable for: Forest owners approaching reforestation after first rotation clear-fell.

Woodland Improvement Scheme (WIS-CCF)

WIS-CCF supports the gradual transformation of existing plantations into more diverse permanent forests. Funding is available for a range of management activities that encourage natural regeneration, improve stand stability and increase species diversity.  

Suitable for: Existing forests with potential for CCF transformation. 

Supports activities such as: 

  • Preparation of a CCF Transformation Management Plan  
  • Tree marking and selective thinning  
  • Natural regeneration management  
  • Deer management  
  • Enrichment planting  
  • Forest protection measures  
  • Control of invasive species
